Ha ha ha cool!

super chill, if thats what you were going for , then you nailed it

Whoa....

You are doing sweet stuff with the noises, I like that. Thats some deep stuff with a nice atmosphere.

This really hits hard. I'm not just referring to the production, but it hits hard in sort of an emotional sense as well. I had no idea the 5B could be so intense

I was perfectly entertained, thanks for that

Rad tune man (: Love the bit at 1:53!

pretty wacky! :D around 1.1 sounds fun all rumbling and the change at ~.45 is neat, keeps jumping in and out of strange rhythms, overall a bit grating and umm manic? strange sort of retro feel - i had fun listening! :D

certainly better than my first lsdj. i don't like to speak of it.

pretty grindy and dark! sounds a bit rigid and stiff (phrasing might help? like, shaping the melody a bit by subtly changing volume, duration between notes, making certain parts of the melody have an emotional peak, blah blah), and some of the higher and lower instruments dont sit together so well to me, but there's lots of ideas and ornaments and things, it was good fun to listen through!

may this be the start of a long and prosperous journey with LSDJ! :D

Cool. SID sounds are awesome.

Concerning the 48second point... Awwww Yiaaahhh!

Damn man, hardcore ha ha.

Awesome, what did you make this with?

Never really used the 1 bit version of pixitracker may try it.

Cool. Pixitracker eh??? Interesting.

This is awesome :D.

Awesome stuff, so when you layer sounds it automatically plays it back like 1-bit or its a bunch of 1-bit samples?

This is great! I'm not a massive fan of muse, but I do like Hysteria.

I sent it to a friend of mine who taught himself to play this by ear on bass, and he thought it was pretty rad as well.

This is excellent! :p Very good work!

Damn, this goes pretty damn hard.

duuuude!!

sweet

Y A Y !

Wow, cool! Wanna try it too.

This has a lot of good moments. I like your use of texture and you transition between each section very fluidly. I think you could use greater variation in the way you use envelopes (or note length depending on your tools) though. There's a couple of moments where you can't exactly tell what rhythms are being played or it sounds washy instead of punchy because two of the same pitch are being played in a row. The bass at 0:14-0:26 and the bass 0:26-0:38 are examples. Diminishing the decay, or making the notes shorter, on the bass line at those points would give those spots more clarity and drive. What did you use to make this?

I like the athmosphere in that tune, sweet

That was cool, I love the mood shift in the middle. :D

Interesting. :)

different, but well made :)

Ha ha this is really cool dude!

>tfw you're jumping around in one spot in Contra and bullets and people just keep coming and you're basically delaying the inevitable.

This is great!

them sounds are so sexy great job

The whole notes or whatever kinda hurts :(. Must be just me other than that awsome.

well played

Hey there, you are correct that it has no volume control, but if mixed properly, it fits nicely, if you still feel it's too loud, i'd plop a Z46 (Or what ever xx values you want) command in the DPCM channel (I'm assuming you are using FamiTracker) It will dampen the volume of the noise and triangle channel and make the DPCM louder. I tend to enjoy the Triangle though, so don't let it discourage you, I've used it heavily for solos in my pieces! If you really want something different, maybe you should play around with the N163 chip, or give DefleMask a whirl, which has several chips in it. Nice song by the way :)

Very cool! Famitracker VRC6?

ah, now I am at the end ... the pulse there is way more pleasing ... yeah, make that triangle a bit more quiet and everything should be fine

I really like dat a lot ... agree to what Jredd said. I would use some reverb on the main melody instrument, but thats just a matter of taste

Nicely done :). I'd almost say you should use some DPCM samples but It'd take the strength away from the triangle channel which would require some readjustment of the other instruments to compensate. Besides that, your noise drums and use of the triangle channel here is pretty impressive, as well as all the other instruments so I guess in the end I wouldn't change a thing :D. Well done, I have a friend who is a big Muse fan who'd probably get a kick out of this :P.

Not to bad! Some more work on the details and the tight-ness of track and it's all good. Made with Famitracker? Cheers

I did this on famitracker for a friend once ;)
dsn-12 Nesque by drexegar

diggin'

this is nice. tritone is interesting. Some of the cool effects are only acheivable at maximum speed but then overall quality ends up really grainy. But this shows you can still make a decent sounding track at a lower speed w/o any of those tricks :)

freaky I like it!
Ghostbusters (SPC700) by kidThunder

nice stuff. I think the breakdown part was asking for a lot more vibrato depth in the synth lead, otherwise good job. I havent done a snes tune yet, because man, those limitations scare me :)
A Minor Thing by XenonOdyssey

impressive sounds

the bass has a atari VCS/2600 feel, or even a atari pokey feel to it, which I like :) The strings chord stabs are well placed too.

I appreciate the use of scratches/retriggers to break things up to introduce the new section :)
89 by bertfm

nice pitch bends and vibratos on the leads, kept it nice and intersting!

I like how the wav breakdown sounded like it was going through a filter. great work!

Digital Detox by Balloonbear

well thought out

correction: I just remembered zabutom did some stuff - search trisynaptic loop. still, this rocks :)

theres not a massive amount of gba nanoloop output around to give a big comparison, all I can say is I like what I'm hearing :)

tons of personality

nice filter to end :)

competitions are definitely a motivation to be more involved. It's that kind of thing that keeps sites like botb thriving

synths played like this make it sound like something other than the atari

nice! this song ends a lot better than the show ever did :)

really good stuff. dont really care that its fakebit, there life in the format when its done as well as this :)

this is very playful, well done!

the melody reminds me of the king of the hill theme tune :)

actually theres plenty of things to like about this song

love the squelch crash :)
Artificial Creativity by pixelherozero

I lost count of the brk tally :)

feelgood factor 500

thanks for the tips, thats definitely given me something to look into!
TWELVE (2xLSDJ) by Pixeltune

love the long chords that 2x lends for this song :)

what is the best way to create a heavy guitar sounding instrument in vgm mm? I've been having a little look. It seems like the instruments I get tend to end up sounding brilliant on only particular notes rather than all the notes on octave.

suddenly a cat
verdigris circuit by kfaraday

really like the mariokart instruments used this way, how did you get the set of instruments?
12 by BOOSH

nice and very unique style for lsdj music!
Attrakt Möd by muteKi

thats so good i'm going to listen to it again!

didn't know you worked in famitracker too :) love it

lately BotB did a contest for people to write music that was themed on the Amen Break and the sine wave. The results turned out pretty good! http://battleofthebits.org/arena/Battle/1547/Amen+Sin+IV/
Fantasma de aereopuerto by calamarespaciales

love the chilled out feel of your tracks.

any cover of metallica in the 80s period is going to be a long long project... they weren't much into small songs then. bet you wish you had napalm death as your favourite band now :)

yeah go ahead; jethstar@gmail :)

I haven't heard many LSDJ-made sounds that resemble any form of guitars before, so nice work

where do you take your influences from?

sega trackers seem really good for bass sounds.

whatever that third ostinato lead instrument is, I have a pile of want for it :p nice arrangements
Eights by regol3th

Catchy as hell

nice tune. The instruments remind me of a track that appeared in Deus Ex, that can only be a good sign!

can't say I was expecting that!
Cat in china by calamarespaciales

has a minecraft music feel to it, I like it =)

nice concept piece

I did the exact same thing with my song truce, just to try out echo :) I like the chilled out feel of this

bring the noise
That Lsdj (WIP) by Dropbit

had this in my head while coming back from work! How did it get there..
The Western Rim by TheNBN

some brilliant instruments used here :)

p.s upload more stuff :)

This works well, and I think it's hard to successfully do crossover with chiptune vs other genres, especially with one so different so well done
Passing By [2xlsdj] by Cooshinator

love the feel of this, it's as others have said, you've accomplished doing something different with the medium.
Every Time by RadicalPresident

it's a nice chillout feel. Its easy for chiptune to become OTT when there are many effects and combinations available, but you've balanced it well :)
Winces by breakphase
