Cool little thing here. : )

Heeey, that was pretty fun.

Wait I need that video in my life. Great job on this man!

This just reminds me of that crazy video you made with your drumming to this song where you dressed like Zangief. That was the best thing ever, and this song is pretty fantastic.

And if you start mailing em any time soon.. You know ;)

I like the harmonies.

Good luck! I can't travel that far so I hope they sell well ^_^

This has a cool sound once it builds. :)

This is a really cool track. me likes

Sounds devious!!! That's a cool sounding bass instrument.

Cool percussion. This makes me think of an Egyptian desert for some reason. XD

That was interesting man, cool sounds in this one. I don't know what it was about it, but maybe something about the shuffle or the beat made me think of one of those really well animated old timey cartoons. I imagined like a 1930's style Betty Boop style cartoon with like their time period's interpretation of a robot being extremely happy and doing weird household chores and going berserk while the humans in the house are taking a nap and being lazy LOL!

This sounds interesting, how does this one compare to the one on the DS if you know?

Great work, really like your Nanoloop iOS stuff :)

Well that was pretty neat :).

N I C E A E S T H E T I C .

very chilled tune, I like the whole atmosphere it delivers. Had also a lot of fun with the percussions, well done man!

LOL at the banjo !

Idea: try with instruments that sounds like Boom&Vroom's/Flynt boss music, that would be perfect!

This is what I imagine a redneck rapoff sounds like. I'm scared, but my foot keeps tapping in enjoyment... oh shit, I forgot that EB Games was a thing, I havent seen one in years.

Cool sound ha ha.

Very nice! Always good to see other 'KORGers' on here, Bibby! :D

this song is quite hilarious

the kick is too heavy for such tune

Can* Bah, I give up. Good song anyway :P

I cam kind of see* I mean, stupid typos :P.

Ha ha ha I can kind of seem the spider-man sitcom vibe oddly enough. However, because of the sound of nanoloop I get more of a late 60's to mid 70's vibe. It's got that "Early electronic music" vibe to it like something by kraftwerk. All it needs are some vocoder lyrics ha ha. Hell I'd watch it ha ha.

Well that's pretty cool. You know I haven't heard your other songs yet, but the quality sounds fine to me. It sounds like this would be a good "walking through town" tune for an RPG that takes place in a modern era. Pretty mellow, and has a hustle and bustle small town feel to it.
I like listening to people's early work and seeing where they've come from in their musical aspirations.

Did it on LSDJ, then imported the render in GarageBand to convert it?

Hulk Hogan is walking through a peaceful forest to find himself.

I love it. I sounds like mouth based music.

I have to give you credit, cause man nanoloop takes a lot of effort, It was my first piece of music software on my android phone. I need to post some music from there too i I ever find my files! Great job!

M01D is tooootally worth it, yo. You get a lot of bang for your buck, more so since you can take the raw midi data and move it to your computer.

Hope to see some more M01D stuff from ya, Bippy.

Yep, I'll have to give it some thought. Sounds pretty cool man :D.

Interesting and how much does it cost to purchase in the e-shop?

How does this compare to the one on cart that came out a while back in Japan? Am I to understand it has more polyphony?

lol yeah that ending was unexpected, but very nice beat!

Ha ha that ending :P.

That's a nice chilled out track :).

Ha, I like those chords and that beat but my brain wants to throw in a funky FM bass instead of the one you have there, It's still good though :). I like this quite a bit. Do you mind if I borrow some ideas from here and try an FM Bass with it? I think it could really sound cool :).

Muy suave <3

I can dig it.

SNES chiptuning (or just 16-bit chiptuning in general) seems to be still pretty new. It's always nice to see more of it in the world.

cool concept but get a tracker would be so much more Retro

Interesting, I like the chords and the bass, the simple beat also works. There are times when that lead hits a sweet spot, and other times when it just seems the slightest bit off. I do appreciate that it sounds played live though. You don't hear a lot of that in chip music and I commend you. However, next time you might go back and double check a few notes and see how well they harmonize with your chords, or adjust the timing of when notes hit to help the flow. If you threw a slow trailing echo on that lead and maybe threw some crashing noise channel work or maybe some kind of backing shimmery bell synth to play at key points I think this could border on Crono Trigger territory :). Those are just some thoughts I had, I do like it in general though. I hope that I was helpful. :)

damn it my comment got lost in the interwebs :/ ... so here is the short version of it: 1. excellent beat 2. nice composition 3. can hear the limitations of the DS.10plus but that is not your fault 4. as Jredd said it, that was excellent work

This is excellent :).

i like this! are u sure its a work in progress? sounds pretty donezo to me! good job! love the drumming, guitar could be a bit louder (on my iphone speakers anyways)
High Flyers by Tilde

this is so good!!! love every part

i like joke songs and i like music that gets more intense like a million times so this is a winner to me!

reminds me of the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 soundtrack, which is very much a good thing
POST PHYSICAL by DOGSTREET

good song! i sort of wonder what it would sound like with more of a house/disco beat...

I'm sorry i left that angry comment on your mashup remix Yoshi's Ireland... I am a stubborn fool. Anyways, it's funny how this has all the epic business and interesting variation of some of your modern songs but not quite as much polish on the melody... You've definitely improved a lot but you started good too!
Yoshi's Ireland by muteKi

if we can post mashups and funny remixes on ucollective i got about 42 things i should probably upload...
Delightful by chippyattack

it doesn't sound too bad... good work!

nicely done all around! im guessing this is slightly political? either way great job.

i showed this to my mom, and she said, "this is cool..."
Circles by muteKi

sort of sounds like a remix of a sonic the hedgehog song that never existed. i think i like it!

i like the snarerolls and i like the main lead and the chords but the bassline and the basskick sort of blur together in a bad way. if i were u i would only use the basskick when its pitch matches the bassline and use a different, less tonal kick otherwise. but maybe my iphone speaker is just ruining it, i dunno.

is that a speak n spell? good song dude

Hey man i really like this! very emotionally engaging and lots of variation thrown in to keep it interesting. I haven't seen Stranger Things but my brother really liked it. By the way, is there an unwritten rule that liking your own song is unethical on ucollective? None of my last 4 uploads has been liked by anyone but myself and im wondering if im breaking some secret rule!

i really like it... my favourite part is when the weird human grunt noise comes in

i saw this on soundcloud... it's really really good! i love how organic the solos feel... but i also love the way it filters to just high frequencies and then goes back to normal

this song won't play for me but i downloaded it and it sounds reeeeally cool, like a tropical spy movie
Battlechip by 0b111

purple martian! i repeat, purple martian!!!

as a jewish chiptune fan, this is really awesome for me especially the glitchiness of the drums and stuff!!!

great remix... btw i am still impressed by how full and polished your sega songs sound

reminds me of Mr.Oizo
Journey Into the Void by Diagamblic

love the retro spooky pitchbending and the retro organ sound. if this had a amen-break-based slightly-glitchy beat i think it would work really well but as it is it really sounds like a great sega genesis horror game or maybe the alien level in streets of rage 2

on headphones the first 4 seconds the bass hurts my ears but its otherwise a really nice sounding song. the double-time drums is sort of jokey and not my cup of tea but i can dig it when the snare-rolls come in. hey you should try using 16bit super nintendo instruments instead of 8bit instruments sometime. i did a few songs with it and the 16bit strings and drums (i like the ones from kirby on snes) are especially fun to listen to.
Only You (GB Ver.) by shlowlie

i like it! very pretty and even a bit emotional

this sounds like castlevania... i like it

this CANNOT be using the sega genesis sound chip... it's so clear and crisp!!! holy crap this is good

i accidentally left a video playing in the background when i first listened to this and i thought you had figured out how to sample huge audio files in lsdj lol. anyways, this is good. a little edgy but still polished.
Oh Blessed Joy by 3ndymion

i've never really used LSDJ much but i like this a lot...

i dont see how this is a self parody but it's good so good job!

if you feel like shit, and i feel like shit, then we're shit-siblings... good cover!

i like the raw energy in this piece. a bit straightforward but sometimes thats a good thing, especially if it works well

really polished and fun. lots of great pitchbending and exciting melodies. what do you make these songs in, ableton? or do you use a tracker or something? i still haven't figured out how to pitchbend properly in ableton... i think there must be an easier way to do it because the only way i can see doing it seems really tedious and finicky.

Is "red eyes" and "gray skies" a reference to getting high and hotboxing, respectively? just kiddin... this is really good. Nice ambiance. Not really the old style of chiptune so much as Chip-House, i would say... but very nice to listen to. keep up the good work i guess!

if the world was fair you'd have a recording contract with EMI for making exactly this kind of song. Honestly i feel like my elderly relatives would like this cuz its so accessible even with the glitch effects (which are awesome btw).
Axel F (SPC700) by kidThunder

at the start it sounded really good and very faithful with a few notes sounding a bit off here and there but otherwise good. Then some of the later instruments came in and, i don't know how else to describe it other than they seemed at the wrong pitch. I don't know if it's less than a semitone or more than several semitones but the loud strings and other stuff seemed a bit discordant. i can tell you put in a lot of work to get every aspect of the song in there so i think all you really need is more practice. And, musical ear training could help but you might not need it. Maybe just get one of those cheap ear-trainer apps for your phone or something. I got one for my iphone and it's hard but it feels like i'm learning when i use it.

super classy. Not a whole lot of humanity to the instrumentation but very good overall. i like the opening and i love the drums and sounds you chose. maybe add some automation of instrument attributes if you wanna add some texture to it (the melodic instruments sound sort of sterile) and the transition into the third part could be a little smoother/slower/more gradual but other than that i think this is really really good
clean up by SnarlyDawg

this is dang good

love the pitchbend.

cool... i like the the bass and then arp lead and the thing that sounds sorta like a flute!

i like how you did your own thing with it... very cool

soul fist is Morrigan's projectile special move in Darkstalkers... so this makes me think of morrigan dancin at a chiptune club

dang... sorry to see you go but i guess you're sorta right... you know, a friend of mine said the same "nobody listens to other people's music or comment anymore" thing about Soundcloud... i wonder if all music sites on the internet are having some kind of collective Meh-pocolypse...
synthister by raptorface

i've never heard of you before but this song is amazing so i obviously just wasn't involved in the scene enough or something!!!
SID Scroller by aaronparsons

this is really good man...believe it or not i'm also injured and depressed... i pinched a nerve in my back :( if you ever wanna talk on twitter or something i'm @unclebibby on twitter... please don't give up... i'll be prayin/crossin my fingers for ya man... really good song man, love the synths and the crunchy drums

so good

this is great remix. keep it please
rockhawk by Volt44

pretty good beat!!
Hibernation by Mise

I LOVE IT!!!!
Circumstances by twistboy

is it hard to make that humanvoice-sounding bass growl in LSDJ? i can't even do it in ableton!!!

very experimental!!! i lost track of the beat a few times... very interesting... i like it. Hope you will try out DSN-12 when it comes out.

super interesting and creepy!! funky too.

i like it! sounds VERY different from your FM synthesis stuff but just as good

this is really cool... i like your covers... might want to experiment with different drumkits tho... i really like the "minimal" one on Korg M01D... the one you use here works good tho. i like the rumble of the bass and the squiggly lead that comes in sometimes... very cool

i like the grunge and the mix and the lead interplaying with the bass

i don't think i've ever played or even heard of Knight of the Round before you started doing covers of it, but, i really like your covers a lot!!!

this is really really epic and funky with lots of detail without much repetition of anything... very awesome... very glitchy and hyper... i like the changes you've made to fit the songs together...

btw this is really really good... love the fm drums, they are pretty different from the other ones... but the rest of the song is really mellow and ambient too

maybe you could use this technique to make room to do something different with the sample channel, like maybe vocal samples that u string together into lyrics or maybe piano chord samples or something like that

this is the best you guys have done in a while, in my opinion... i really like this one, different style than some of your others... a bit too crazy in some parts but maybe thats a good thing

wow, this is pretty niche man!!! I don't know any other chip musicians composing for the sega saturn, let alone composing really great music for it!!
DudeQuest OST! by MaskedEpsilon

*sob* beautiful

is that a flute at around 2:20 ?

okay i just tweeted a link to your site on my twitter. hopefully it gets you some new fans!

i saved your website in my favourites once but then i switched b(r)owsers and lost the info... but now i have it again!!! Thank you. this is an awesome 16 bit arrangement. You got a good ear for the lil details!!!
Synecdoche by Cooshinator

edit: it reminds me a lot of a kirby game! the first third anyways
Synecdoche by Cooshinator

this is really cool

This is a great cover, maybe even more exciting than the original... @balloonbear yeah! and whatever happened to those 1-second song compilations, are they still downloadable anywhere? I put some stuff into one of em and now i can't find it!

awesome! Streets Of Rage 2 is so so awesome... i think that game even had a competitive multiplayer mode besides the main story mode... great cover of a great song!

i don't really play rpgs, but i've definitely heard of phantasy star and seen screenshots of it. it looks pretty cool... is it sort of a scifi rpg or is it more fantasy? or both?

short and sweet, (emphasis on the sweet)!

this is just really fun and enjoyable!

you know, listening to the song again, maybe the lead instrument is fine... its a really good song. hard to do tribal-sounding stuff in rytmik retrobits, i bet!

very cool! The notes of the lead instrument that starts at around 0:40 might be being held a little too long. If you can't make the decay shorter or shorten the notes, then maybe STOP the notes by adding a silent note right where you want the previous note to end... Otherwise the song is very classy and has a lot of meaning packed into not that many instruments. Fun to listen to, very cool, just might wanna reduce the impact of that lead a little bit.
Stormsong by VCMG

the important thing is this sounds awesome

nobody commented on this yet? it's pretty good!!! i'll check out your forum for a minute or two

well, i mean, your parts of the song are really good too (especially the lead solo) but it's just hard to believe this song could theoretically play in a Sega Genesis!!!

wait, what was this made with? That bass and those drums are too amazing for VG Music Maker or whatever its called... i love this so much...

i like this a lot! Please do more FM stuff for DS-10!!! It sounds great.

so good!!!!

@Jredd HOLY CRAP JREDD ARE YOU A STREET FIGHTER FAN??? ME TOO!!!!!!!

i like the breakdown at around the 45 second mark!

this is like a magical, all-encompassing adventure!!!!

this is really fun to listen to. modplug tracker sounds so weird. why does the guitar sound so realistic when everything else is so 90s lol

this is awesome
