Another beautiful song by you. Very nice.

has much emotion

that was a beautiful tune :)

sounds nice, all introverted and reflective and rainy, it's quite addictive especially when it opens up around 0.50 -- that little high trilly thing is sweet, the piano solo part near the beginning felt a lil cheesy for me, i like the bloopy arpy melody, nice job! :D

Love it c:

Are you a pianist??? You always play very beautiful. Very nice on this.

DUDE, nice work on this one. Lots of energy in this cover and pulled off pretty well!

Could I use this as a bonus track for the Ocarina of Time comp i'm organising? (It'd have to be a bonus track as i'm trying to keep all the main tracks LSDj)

@UncleBibby Hell yeah, I put something in the massive 8bc one second compo. Wonder if there's a download somewhere...

@Ikasam Excellent cover!

Ha ha, pretty cool :). I'm going to probably put up a video game cover next week. Don't sweat it :).

hmu if they will try to make another vol. wanna mix something too

Hey, don't worry about it, I work on covers intermittently between my own songs, so I understand. This sounds outstanding for a chip style cover. I always enjoy some piano in the mix as well!

This is a great cover, maybe even more exciting than the original... @balloonbear yeah! and whatever happened to those 1-second song compilations, are they still downloadable anywhere? I put some stuff into one of em and now i can't find it!

have you heard anythinga bout da chip vol 3?

nice dreamy flow, i love all the little fluttering clicks and ticks and bits and pieces!

dat flow <3

Excellent work :)

That escalated quickly, lal!

Hey Ikasam, I'll bet you never expected all of this, eh??? :P

il tl:dr it for you ya lazy fuck

tl;dr leave him alone guyyz

Lol, he's just an incurable troll. Ignore him.

v tl;dr any of the comments v

I might as well throw my hat in to the ring. Harsh words may work with some people, but they don't necessarily work with everyone. Believe it or not, whether it makes sense to you or not, that can actually motivate some people to quit. Like myself, for example, luckily i am now confident enough in my skills to not give a shit, and plenty of times, if i put up something bad or pointless, it's meant as a joke rather than showing off some kind of incompetence, i have a certain sense of humor about me. But for most people, when you do that, you just come off as an ass and a potential troll. I can tell you're not meaning to, especially since you've given me good comments on some of my stuff. But really, no one wants to see negative bashing. The way you just come up all "it sucks, go fuck yourself" makes you look like you're just trying to be an ass whether you intend to or not. That's how it comes off. Also, as Jredd and 3ndymion said, at least give some reason as to why you don't think it looks good. At least try to help build them up other than scaring or pissing them off, or downright destroying their ambitions. If you do that, you would have a lot more respect, i guarantee. I don't think you are a bad person by any means, LX, but i would recommend watching what you do. Seriously. What you are doing is making you come off as annoying, an ass, and a troll, you are not helping anything or anyone by doing that. That's all i have to say.

Holy crap!!! Guess I'll jump in. Sure, harsh words can be effective, but at least make something of it by making it constructive instead of just being useless. If something's wrong, say why & what can be done about it. At least then the harsh words will have some kind of justification, if any. Telling people things like "please go die" isn't helping anyone in any way whatsoever. There's nothing cool about trollin around like that.

I can see your point, but I can't help but think it's possible to get the same points across while still keeping someone's dignity intact. I've seen him be helpful on certain things in a way, but I just usually just see him point out what's wrong and I don't know how often he offers suggestions to improve. That's like finding someone with a broken down car on the road and saying, "Your engine is dead..." and then walking away. He pointed out a problem, but it doesn't really help. If someone is going to point out everything wrong and tear me a new one, the least they could do is offer alternatives to give me something to try next time so that I improve. Tell me something though, would you rather someone call your music shit and walk off? Or, encourage you for uploading, offer a few suggestions with tact along with an explanation of techniques to try next time so that you improve, and then end on an encouraging note like telling them you hope to see them upload again, and if they have any questions to feel free to ask. That is how to be helpful. Look at the words constructive criticism. To construct means to build does it not? Note that this word is before criticizing and so takes priority. So to me, it is that you are pointing out things that can be improved but doing so in a way that makes them feel like it's a goal they can attain, making them want to try again, and most importantly develop a passion for what they are doing so that they make their own strides in improvement simply due to the enthusiasm. Most people can point out something wrong and walk away, but it takes real dedication and warmth to teach effectively. If you don't have those things going into it you may have some improvement but it'll be out of spite and they'll most likely feel the things you have said. "That guy's an asshole, I'll show him." It might work for short bursts, but in the long run if that's the only experience you had would you develop a love for your craft? Could you be passionate about what you're doing and help others come along the same way? It may come about by some fluke, but more often than not it leads to frustration and people either giving up, or going a completely opposite way just to spite the asshole :P. I'm not saying lxtxcx doesn't have knowledge or experience to back up his words, but what good is it unless you present it in a way that makes people want to listen to it? That's my point. He may have all the knowledge in the world, but if you put it so harshly that it pisses people off and you don't see much change in people, maybe you should consider adapting your approach. Everyone learns differently, some may flourish from the "Drill Sargent" method, but most people thrive better under less hostile conditions. There's a big difference between telling someone what's wrong, and teaching them to do it right. That's what I am trying to say, and the whole point about he knows when people are trying or not? That's according to his standards. It is not taking into account how much or how little experience someone has. So he just assumes because someone is bad at it, they are being a "troll" and need to be taught a lesson. I've heard plenty of people start off as "shit" and become decent or even great due to continued positive reinforcement. I'm a firm believer in this, not only does it cultivate better results but I feel better as a person for doing it this way. Maybe because of my own experiences I am more empathetic than most, but when I take this stand I feel completely justified almost to the point of standing up to a bully. There's a better way to teach, and I hope people learn it or else we're going to have a lot of pissed off musicians and artist on here :P.

I'd like to further back lxtxcx' point that sometimes harsh words are needed. Referring back to 8bc, I used to be a member, way before I used the name Alpine, so none of you will specifically remember my awful "music". The thing was, I was shit, I was really shit, but I had A B Up Start complaining at me for being shit, no sympathy at all. As a young teenager, it really pissed me off, I wanted to make music so good that the stuck up twat would have to like it. Didn't really work because I gave up on music due to 8bc going down and frustration due to lack of musical knowledge. I did however start writing music again, and I do plan on writing a song that even he will like. Kinda poetic and cliche eh?
Anyway, when I uploaded a piece of artwork for an album, lxtxcx was really helpful, and gave me actual feedback, he's not stupid, and he can tell when someone has put effort in, and when they haven't. He was probably so civilized, and un-aggressive because he knew that I had tried.
On the flip side, his style of critiquing which is pretty similar to that of A B Up Start (Calling it shit if it is) could inspire someone to make artwork that "Even that dickhead lxtxcx can't fucking complain about" but who knows?

I think there is a right and a wrong way to go about constructive critique. Is your goal to show off how much you think you know about what should be accepted and drive people away because they aren't good enough? Or do you actually want people to continue to post, improve and thrive? Well, I don't think going around pointing out everything wrong with no tact does a whole lot of good. People are timid enough as it is knowing that the internet is full of assholes that just love to stroke their egos and put people down. The people I grew from the most as a musician were the people that took an interest in my musical development. The ones that made a point to encourage when I did something well, and handle with tact where I could be improved. I imagine the same things can be applied to art. I find that it is much more rewarding and successful to be a caring mentor than a standoff-ish know it all. If only pixel art can be accepted, then by that logic only chip music by itself and created within the limits of a retro game console should be accepted. I respect and admire a purist route but I don't think it's the only way to pay tribute to a retro aesthetic that all of us here obviously hold dear. You can state your opinions however you like, but it might be a good idea to take tact into consideration if you want to see results and/or change in the quality of the image section. Have a listen to most good musicians and I am pretty sure the best ones were nurtured rather than nitpicked. Well, that's my 2 cents take it how you like. I'm willing to put the quality of my music on the line as proof of my point, while acknowledging that I can always improve and that others can be just as good or better than I am. That said, I didn't get to my current level with tactless nitpicking, I got it through the support of people who I could tell had a passion for music and wanted to help me grow. I intend to pass that method along, and anytime I see things counter-productive to that I cringe and feel the need to speak up. Again, in the end do what you want but I feel completely justified in stating my case. I hope it makes some sort of impact.

I know dude, I laughed at the joke too, just wanted to make clear the intentions behind my behaviour, since everybody seems to think i'm "Angry" and hateful. My goal is clear now, thanks for the oportunity [/drama]

I'm pretty sure i've only said mean things to:
-Lazy >5 minutes "artwork" spam
-Submissions against the rules (yes "we" have rules :O)
-Pointless hardware jerking

I'm really sorry for trying to keep this small images section healthy. I guess most of you forget about what an images section in a "chiptune" website is about (remember 8bc?). I guess it's easier to have some sort of dump bucket to throw anything without thinking too much about it. It's not like we have facebook groups or even forums (in this very website) to do that. Let's spam 40 databend pictures. Wanna check my new DMG? I bet you've never seen one. Look at this drawing of a zebra, hope you all like it. This is me irl, i have a very chiptune haircut. Check those 13 variations of my logo in this glorious 130x23 lossy resolution.

I'm not asking for everyone to be incredible skilled and submit god-tier pixel art like this is fucking PIXEL Joint. But don't cry when I call your rushed 10 minutes photoshop experiment "shit". That's spam. I used to do that, and I can't thank enough the old people on 8bc who bashed me every time I uploaded a turd only for the sake of dumping it. I have love and constructive criticism for everyone who wants it and actually tried to create an image, the goal of this section.

I'm not even mad, i think the image is funny. Just droping my statement here because it seems the right place to

"Foolish mortal, you will not escape! Muahahahaha!" (FM-Possible quote) *flies away*

LOL!!! Jredd wins the internets!!! It is now required to give him full control of everything on the net! Because he won it that much! :D!

lxtxcx Texas Instrument Calculating Critique Robot. "Does not compute." *Rebooting insult library* ...Running "Fuck you.exe" "Hopes and Dreams Terminated" -Mission Complete-

Now THIS is what i call art!!! :'D

Don't forget "That's not even Rockman just die" It was on just a picture of a mega man toy that someone had for his avatar. It was amazing, I didn't even know someone could become this angry over a mega man toy.

ltc's constructive criticism is a noble institution of uc.o. Someday I hope to upload something worth of being criticized by. <3 -/-> :{fellow}

Brilliant, I needed a new wallpaper haha

Haha, well done...well done indeed ^^

Love Trhough Cannibalism the angry Pixelartist was such a cute child, what happend man haha!?

that is the cheese, awesome

dude. this is cloud floating music.

This one is the coolest one so far. I really like remixes that flip the original like this, excellent job :D.

Recently got renoise for the sole sake of making chipbreak (nah, not really, but I head is much easier), so maybe some day soon I make some brks

lately BotB did a contest for people to write music that was themed on the Amen Break and the sine wave. The results turned out pretty good! http://battleofthebits.org/arena/Battle/1547/Amen+Sin+IV/

I must agree to the Elfen Lied comparison as well :) Not a bad thing at all actually. Sounds good mate!

there is some sweet dance stuff going on here. Well done man!

Now I am connecting it, so this is the current sound of We The Sick Ah ha! I probably knew at one point I just forgot LOL.

sweeet stuff!

this is really awesome man. great work with this.

i love toast

Pretty cool :).

that was a nice soundscape

Thanks again for letting me know about my submission failing. I've just realised that now I've hopped above you on the front page - sorry!

I really like this song. The second half is really energetic and bright, it's all very nice to listen to.

Nice production!

fantastic !

I can second that though I prefer a harder sound. Your new avatar is awesome!

I usually don't favorite music like this, but this was really nice. You did a great job.

The melodies are great and very impressive due to the time limit imo.

It sounds pretty close to Megaman. The sound design just lacks energy. Too soft. Good effort though :) It's like a Sega Man, haha.

Sounds awesome!
What program did you use?

This is really nice! :)

way to go man, cannot wait for new tracks, that one is awesome too

you are doing some pretty good stuff, I think that should have gotten way more than 1 like in the week it was posted

nice, like all the variations

man when that high pitched lead comes in to harmonize with everything at 0:34, its just so beautiful. and the main chorus at 2:00 is perfect.

i think what you have is pretty good. although with that high pitched sine waves playing the same notes throughout the entire song makes the song stale. I know what you were trying to do with it, its just that having it go on for the entire song is a bit much. other than that, good stuff.

i like the look of the "jredd" text. I think if the text could blend in better with what you have at the bottom would be nice. as of now, they look separated. other than that, I think it looks great

Really well done for sure. I especially like the cape, though I don't remember it like that in the movie. Kinda gives it a count Dracula look to it haha

It is today by Alpine

this is actually pretty similar to how i make music; having the lead sort of repeat itself while the base line changes. i think if you layered it a bit more, it would sound more full. i think it sounds good though all in all

agreed with wheely. seriously love your instrumentation, and i especially love that melody that comes in on the 41 second mark that you added. would love to hear more from you, and can i ask what you use to write your songs?

theres this really high pitched sound like the one you would hear when the tv is on. is that suppose to be there? i dont think i heard it in your other atari songs(hello atari and night time waves) other than that, its a nice start with a good melody :D

awesome track man, dont usually hear stuff like this here so its a nice change

yeah awesome track!

never heard of eirin's theme before but that melody that comes in at 27 is great

:O, this is superb! love what you did with the song :D
